A brand that can have very high-quality examples as well as genuinely poor ones. Personally I am quite happy with my own Buckingham, but I do not think this pipe will deliver similar performance.

Shank: Very clean.

 

Draft Hole (Air Hole): Dead center in the chamber but not flush with the chamber floor. Although the small gap will not affect the smoke, care should be taken when smoking down to the bottom.

 

Chamber Cleaning: Very well reamed and symmetrical.

 

Condition: 6/10

 

Flaws: The draft hole is not flush with the chamber floor.

 

Score: 5/10

 

Comment: A pipe you can treat roughly. The ebauchon block was used heavily. The briar quality is not good. It could serve as an experiment or a learning pipe. An estate pipe that will really rein you in, especially on cadence.
