One of the John Redman brands. Although they are known for making lower-tier pipes, quite high-quality examples can also be found. This estate pipe is a low-to-mid tier pipe that could be ideal as a starter.

 

Shank: Has begun to darken.

 

Draft Hole (Air Hole): Dead center in the chamber and flush with the chamber floor.

 

Chamber Cleanliness: Very well reamed and quite symmetrical.

 

Condition: 5/10

 

Flaws: Assorted pits on the left of the chamber and in a few other spots. Apart from that, a trouble-free pipe.

 

Score: 4/10

 

Comment: A section very close to the ebauchon was used. For this reason it will heat up quickly. It can be considered an experiment or a training pipe. Since heating up quickly will naturally push you toward a slow pace, that is the only sense in which it is useful.
