Brand: Jeantet - Fleuron

Jeantet is a very old pipe brand whose founding dates back to 1775. In 1816 it took the name Jeantet-David, and in 1837 it became a joint-stock company serving as the collective name for numerous workshops scattered across the city.

Production of the briar pipes we know began in 1858. Today Jeantet pipes are made as a sub-brand of Chapuis-Comoy, whose flagship brand is of course Chacom.

Shank: Whitish and very clean.

Draft Hole (Air Hole): Dead center in the chamber; it does not quite graze the chamber floor, leaving a very small gap that will not affect the smoke.

Chamber Cleaning: Very well reamed and quite symmetrical.

Condition: 7/10

Flaws: There are 4 pits on the lower right of the chamber. The mouthpiece is also a bit loose. Apart from these, a very good pipe.

Score: 7/10

Comment: Truly one of the top-tier estate pipes from Jeantet. I have yet to meet anyone who smoked one of their good pipes and was not pleased. Anyone looking for a quality second-hand pipe at a reasonable price should definitely consider it.
