Brand: Jeantet Luxe

The characteristic "J" logo inside the hexagon on the mouthpiece marks the pipe as belonging to the "Golden Age" period, when Jeantet still produced in its own independent factory, before joining the Cuty-Fort Group (Chacom) in 1988 (estimated 1960s - 1970s).

The Jeantet family's history of woodworking and pipe stem making in Saint-Claude goes back to the 1770s. However, they began producing briar pipes as we know them in 1858.

The Golden Age: The brand reached the peak of its production capacity in the 1960s. With its quality workmanship and wonderful designs it became one of the most important representatives of the French school in the world.

The End of Independence: By 1988, due to declining market share, Jeantet was sold to the Cuty-Fort Group, which also owned the famous Chacom brand. Its own factory was closed, and after that date pipes bearing the Jeantet emblem continued to be made under the Chacom umbrella (generally as a lower-tier line).
