One of the interesting, long-established names in English pipe history. Masta is an old brand founded in England in the early 1900s. Although it is hard to pin down this pipe's exact year of manufacture, the brand's history lets us make some solid estimates:

 

The Masta brand was bought in 1946 by Parker, one of the sub-brands of the famous Dunhill, and in 1967 it was fully integrated into Parker-Hardcastle Ltd. Production of the brand most likely ended in the early to mid 1970s. Given the classic stamping styles, there is a very strong chance that this piece was made somewhere between the 1930s and the 1960s.

Comment: An estate pipe I genuinely like a great deal, both for its shape and its craftsmanship. It really was made with flawless workmanship. The thin layer of cake in the chamber is a very good thing.
