Brand: Masta Patent - Standard Estate Pipe

 

One of the interesting and long-established brands in English pipe history. Masta is an old brand founded in England in the early 1900s. Although it is hard to pin down this pipe's exact year of production, looking at the brand's history we can make the following strong estimates:

 

The Masta brand was bought in 1946 by Parker, one of the sub-brands of the famous Dunhill, and in 1967 it was fully integrated into Parker-Hardcastle Ltd. The brand's production most likely ended in the early to mid 1970s. Given the classic stamping styles, there is a very high chance that this piece was made somewhere between the 1930s and the 1960s.

 

Shank: Light in color and clean.

 

Draft Hole (Air Hole): Dead center in the chamber but not entirely flush. There is a small gap that will not affect the smoke.

 

Chamber Cleaning: Very well reamed and quite symmetrical.
