Bussang is the name of the village in the Vosges mountains of northeastern France where Eugène-Léon Ropp (1830-1907) set up his first workshop. The Bussang stamp, a horn stem, and a rounded rim are the criteria used to date a pipe to the early period of 1870-1893.
