Enzo Galluzzo, who had carved for Caminetto, founded Capitello around 1982-83 after parting ways with Luigi Radice and Giuseppe Ascorti. He ran the workshop with his partner Corrado Ripamonti until it closed in 1991. Records indicate Capitello was the only Italian pipe brand to oil-cure its pipes in the 1980s.
