The letter "M" in the stamp is the initial of founder Mario Gasparini; later the "G" from Mario's signature was adopted as the brand logo. According to Mario's daughter Marisa Gasparini, the brand's owner as of 2013, this pipe dates to 1965. Pipes stamped Gasparini M.G.M. do not come from Mario's firm but from a different company that engaged in unfair competition in the late 1970s and went bankrupt within two years; that brand's second-line names are Il Ponte and MGM.
