The 05 in the stamp is the shape code (short-shank billiard), while 27 indicates, per records, the year of manufacture (1927). The pipe has the push-tenon stem design that predates the synchrostem. Since the KBB stamp within the clover was discontinued in 1933, this mark places the pipe as having been made before 1933 at the old KB&B factory in Union City, New Jersey; the synchrostem patent was granted in 1932.
