On pipes signed by Pierre Morel (son), a plain "e" was used before 1980, and the character ε afterward; Benzon was Morel's Italian distributor up to 1980. The signature-style "Morel" stamp, on the other hand, marks pipes made by Pierre Morel (father) in the 1970s for the Bremen wholesaler Tiedemann.
