This meerschaum pipe was made in 1892, two years after the Kapp brothers and Charles Peterson patented their system; dating relies on the Dublin Assay Office's date-letter chart. The silver band shows both the Peterson name and the parent company Kapp Brothers (the "KAPP BRO" stamp). The P-Lip stem carries a "HAND CUT" stamp, and the box is of the "Kidney" type.
