The stamped pipe is one of the examples carved by Preben Holm between 1963-1968, while he worked for the Copenhagen tobacconist. The brand should not be confused with the Dan Pipe Cigar & Company in Germany or the Pipe-Den shop in the USA. Other craftsmen who made pipes for Pipe-Dan include Gert Holbek, P. Holtorp, Sixten Ivarsson, and Ib Loran.
