The "C5" stamp was used to distinguish pipes sold in the US by CAO, which took over distribution from Lane Ltd. in 1985; it therefore marks the latest production period. The Private Collection series dates from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. There are two separate grading systems: ascending letters A, B, C, D, and ascending numbers 101, 202, 404, 606, and 808.
