The DAC stamp abbreviates the name Duranti Anselmi Castelfidardo. The brand has been stamped as Raganella, La Raganella, Non Canta La Raganella, and NCLR; the name means "the frog doesn't croak," referring to tobacco juice not gurgling. Some models were made for the Montanari pipe and tobacco shop in Modena, others for Lubinski Ltd., Italy's largest pipe importer as of 2005; see also Anselmi (Adriano).
