The maker, Konstantin Shekita, was born in 1967; he made his first pipe at the "Golden Gate" factory in Kiev. Starting in 2007 he began attending international pipe shows, and records from 2011 indicate he produced roughly 200 pipes a year. The first two digits of the number give the production year (10 = 2010), with the remaining digits giving that year's production sequence.
