The brand's shop is on Yandaixiejie street in Beijing, also known as "Pipe Street"; as of 2012 records, it was run by a Mr. Liu. The pipes are made from a wood known in Chinese as ji chi mu (鸡翅木), called "chicken wing wood" for its dense, feather-like grain. Botanically the wood belongs to the genus Ormosia.
