Luigi Viprati was born in 1953 and has been a full-time pipe maker since 1982. Grading rises from one to five clovers; the grade of three clovers is not used, as the number three is considered unlucky in Italy. The top-grade pipes carry the "Fiammata" stamp; rusticated pipes are not graded.
