Weyman's Cutty Pipe

Cutty Pipe is a historic American pipe tobacco originally released by the Pittsburgh-based Weyman & Bros., passing to the American Tobacco Company in 1905. Promotional texts of the era emphasize that the blend was prepared from Kentucky Burley leaf using a new processing method. It was sold in large tins and pouch packaging, and per records was discontinued around the 1980s.

Its single-leaf-type structure places the blend at the plain end of the American Burley tradition: a nutty, dry, earthy taste is delivered without pronounced sweetness or added flavoring. Its coarse, granular cut packs loosely into the bowl and burns slowly; nicotine load is medium. It's considered a historical example for those curious about the everyday, unflavored Burley tobacco of the past; today it can only be traced through collector's tins.
