Old Dog

Old Dog is a full-bodied English mixture produced for Ashton, later continued by McClelland. At the blend's center is cool, smoky Cyprus Latakia; joined by Macedonian Xanthi Oriental, rested sweet Virginias, and smooth black Cavendish.

Its color is dark and the smoke is heavy; the Oriental spiciness adds sharpness to Latakia's smoky base, while Virginia and Cavendish add a sweet counterweight. It's an entry for smokers accustomed to dark Latakia blends, looking for smoky intensity. Its production ended when McClelland closed and the recipes weren't transferred.
