Landtabak

Recorded under the name Austria Tabak GmbH, Landtabak is a Burley-forward blend produced in Austria since 1949, and is the same product as the Landtabak described in the previous entry, listed under a different manufacturer credit. It contains Burley, golden Virginia, Paraguayan, and Oriental leaf; the brand is blended today within the Japan Tobacco International group.

It's a fine-ribbon cut, coming out of the pack quite dry, though the leaf retains its internal moisture. The pack scent carries Paraguayan tobacco's strong scent first, followed by a measured note of sugar, cocoa, spice, and fruit after airing. Strength is medium, flavor is intense. It suits smokers looking for a full-bodied Burley blend where flavoring stays in the background.
