Borkum Riff Original is a loose-cut aromatic bringing together generous amounts of black Cavendish, Virginia, and Burley leaf, topped with a light vanilla coating. Notes of chocolate, plum, and dried fruit stand out in the smoke; the topping is more restrained than in the brand's other products, letting the tobacco's own taste come through.

For roughly the half-century it's been on the market, the blend was largely sold as Ultra Light before later taking the name Original. The brand was introduced in Sweden in 1962 and is now produced in Denmark under Scandinavian Tobacco Group. It suits those looking for a mild, low-nicotine, familiar everyday aromatic.
