2018 Virginia & Perique

2018 Virginia & Perique is a Bosphorus product built from golden Virginia and perique leaf, pressed into flake form. Per the manufacturer's description, a very small chocolate touch has been applied to the blend; this casing is barely distinguishable in the smoke, and the blend reads as an unflavored Virginia-perique. It consists entirely of Turkish tobaccos, and the perique too is prepared from Turkish leaf.

Perique's tart, woody taste comes forward in the blend, with golden Virginia's sugary base leaving a natural sweetness underneath it. A woody taste lingers in the mouth after smoking. Since moisture is at the right level, the flake does not run wet when broken up and filled; it burns evenly and smokes easily.
