Northwoods is Boswell's Latakia-based English blend. J. M. Boswell built the blend originally for his own smoking in the early 1980s and put it up for sale at customers' request. Per the manufacturer's description, toasted virginias join a soft, measured Latakia base; the cut is ribbon and it comes out of the tin at a moisture ready for smoking.
The body is full, the flavor intense; yet the Latakia proportion does not turn the blend into a one-note smoke bomb. Smoking notes report traces recalling Virginia sweetness, cocoa and woody tastes underneath the smoky layer. Suitable for smokers wanting to get to know Latakia blends or seeking a balanced English blend.
