Pennsylvania Dutch Treat is one of the oldest recipes of the Boswell family, who blend in their own shop in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Cavendish and burley leaf form the body; a measured cherry casing is applied on top. Per the manufacturer's description, J. M. Boswell built this blend at age twenty, and it has remained a fixture of the shop ever since.
The burley base gives a nutty, satisfying foundation, while the cherry casing sits distinctly on top of it. Since moisture is not kept heavy, it lights easily and stays lit, leaving no wetness at the bottom of the bowl. Suits smokers who want an aromatic smoke while avoiding a syrupy texture, seeking a medium-bodied, evenly burning blend.
