Virginia Flake

Mr. B's Virginia Flake is an unflavored flake obtained by blending and pressing red, lemon (light yellow) and dark Virginia leaves together. Having different Virginia grades together gives a broader flavor range than flakes based on a single leaf class.

Sugars concentrate due to pressing; smoked slowly, it gives a grassy, tart-sweet profile that deepens over time. It calls for a measured pace since fast smoking can cause tongue bite. A structure suited to fans of unflavored Virginia and to cellaring (long-term aging).
