Blended Flake

Blended Flake is the flake tobacco in the Royal Vintage line bearing the name of pipe maker Michael Butera; the blend was prepared at the McClelland workshop. Its composition includes matured red virginia, hand-selected Oriental leaf, hot-air-cured leaf from North Carolina, and long-cut St. James perique.

The slices range between medium and dark brown; the aroma is spicy and earthy. It is one of the few Latakia-free Oriental blends; the flavor moves back and forth between virginia's tart sweetness, Oriental's dry spice, and perique's peppery hit. Suitable for smokers seeking a complex flake without Latakia.
