Cherry

Captain Black is the best-known brand of mass-produced aromatic pipe tobacco sold in American supermarkets and tobacco outlets. Cherry is the cherry-flavored member of the line; a strong cherry casing is applied over a black-Cavendish-forward base. The cut is ribbon and the tobacco is packed as a sticky mass.

It is extremely light in nicotine; the casing itself, rather than the tobacco flavor, comes to the fore in the smoke. The cherry aroma carries a synthetic, intense character, and the room note is pronounced in the same direction.
