Black Flake

Charatan is a pipe brand founded in London in 1863; after Dunhill withdrew from the tobacco business in 2017, a tobacco line under the Charatan name was released by Tor Imports, with the blends manufactured by Kohlhase & Kopp in Germany. Black Flake is the dark Virginia flake built in this line to take the place of Dunhill's Dark Flake.

Dark, matured Virginia leaves are pressed and sliced; no casing is used. The flavor is bready and dark-fruited, and its high sugar content calls for a slow smoke. Nicotine sits at the high end of the line. Suitable for smokers accustomed to dark, full-bodied Virginia flakes.
