Bayou Morning Flake

Cornell & Diehl Bayou Morning Flake is the pressed form of the ribbon-cut mixture of the same name. Perique is added at roughly a quarter proportion to red Virginia leaves of Old Belt origin; after the whole mixture is pressed it is sliced into flake. Pressing lets the components interact with each other for longer.

The slices are smoked either rubbed out or folded into the bowl; the burn is slower than the ribbon form. In taste, Virginia's sweetness and perique's plum-and-pepper notes are pronounced, with the body sitting on the full end. It suits experienced smokers looking for a high-perique flake, accustomed to slow smoking.
