Burley Flake #5

Burley Flake #5 is the series' cased member. Light and dark burley leaves are joined by red and bright Virginia and a measured amount of fire-cured Kentucky; a traditional casing of anise, rum, and molasses is applied on top. This casing doesn't make it fully aromatic, but it gives it the roundest profile in the series.

Thanks to the casing, burley's dry, sharp side is softened; the taste becomes fuller rather than spicy and assertive. Kentucky provides a smoky base, while Virginia supplies sweetness. Nicotine strength again runs high. It suits smokers newly approaching unflavored burley blends and looking for a traditional cased-flake taste.
