Dark Fired Kentucky

Dark Fired Kentucky is less a blend than a single leaf variety: fire-cured Kentucky burley is offered as a ribbon cut. Cornell & Diehl lists it both as a tobacco that can be smoked on its own and as a blending leaf the smoker can use in their own mixtures.

Fire-curing gives the leaf a pronounced smoky, woody sharpness while also keeping nicotine high. Smoked on its own it draws a hearty, direct profile; added in small amounts to Virginia- or burley-based mixtures it adds depth. It suits smokers accustomed to strong tobaccos and those building their own blends.
