Exhausted Rooster

Exhausted Rooster is a Virginia-Burley blend Cornell & Diehl prepared for the Chicagoland Pipe Show, offered as broken flake. Virginia's sweetness, fire-cured burley's body, and a small amount of perique's spice come together, with no added flavoring. Since the flakes come out of the tin relatively dry, they need little airing, pack easily, and burn slow and cool.

The flavor profile leads with dark fruit notes recalling plum and raisin, an earthy sweetness, and a fine peppery edge from the perique. Strength is medium: burley provides genuine tobacco texture and nicotine, while perique isn't dominant enough to throw off the balance. It makes a suitable everyday flake for those seeking unflavored blends along the Virginia-perique and burley axis.
