Golden Days of Yore

Golden Days of Yore is a mixture first released as Cornell & Diehl's Christmas blend in 2015 and periodically reissued since. Its base contains burley, fire-cured Kentucky, red and bright Virginia, black cavendish, and Greek Katerini leaf, topped with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, and dark rum.

Though the flavoring list is long, the application is light, so the blend leans closer to a spiced natural-tobacco profile than a heavy aromatic. On the smoke, citrus tang, woody and sweet-grass notes, a background of toast and dried fruit, and a measured peppery edge on the retrohale all appear. It suits those looking for a spice-forward seasonal blend where the flavoring stays understated.
