Kajun Kake

Kajun Kake takes its name from the Louisiana Perique it contains and the crumbly cake form it's presented in. Measured Perique is added to naturally sweet red Virginias, and the mixture is pressed in the old style so the flavors meld together. It sits in the tin as a rectangular block, breaks apart at the lightest touch, and packs the bowl easily.

Perique reins in Virginia's sweetness, building a character evoking earth and peat; the resulting profile moves between sweet and spicy, with notes of ripe fruit and earth. It carries no casing. Since it arrives moist, airing it out for a while after breaking it apart evens out the burn. Suited to those looking for the classic Virginia-Perique smoke in pressed form.
