Latakia

This product isn't a blend but a single-varietal component tobacco: pure Cyprus Latakia offered ribbon cut by Cornell & Diehl. Latakia is obtained by smoking Oriental tobacco leaves over resinous wood and plant smoke; the result is a dark, nearly black leaf.

It isn't designed to be smoked on its own; though nicotine is medium, the smoke and tar taste is very intense. It's used by smokers building their own English or Balkan blend, or wanting to raise the Latakia proportion of an existing mixture.
