Midnight Orchard

Midnight Orchard is the first aromatic blend released in Cornell & Diehl's Small Batch series. Its composition includes 2023-harvest darkened bright Virginias, 2019- and 2023-harvest lemon-colored bright Virginias, 2019- and 2022-harvest Old Belt red Virginias, and real St. James Perique from 31 Farms. Head blender Jeremy Reeves traces the blend's starting point to the orangey, floral scent the kumquat tree in front of his house leaves on summer nights.

In the profile, dark fruit and citrus notes intertwine with an earthy base and warm spice; traces of vanilla and forest fruit are kept measured enough to highlight the tobaccos' own taste rather than mask it. Despite being aromatic, since the Virginia-and-Perique structure is preserved, it's aimed at smokers who don't expect heavy sugar from cased blends and want natural tobacco character.
