Oriental Silk

Oriental Silk is a blend Cornell & Diehl prepared as a Latakia-free Oriental mixture. Per the maker's listing, Perique, bright Virginia flake, Oriental (Turkish) flake, and bright Virginia ribbon are brought together; using different cuts together gives the mixture textural variety.

Since there's no Latakia, the Oriental leaves' grassy, lightly tart, spicy character is felt directly; Virginia builds the sweet base, while Perique sharpens the edges with a plum-and-pepper accent. Room note stays light. Suited to smokers avoiding smoky blends who want to follow the Oriental leaf's own taste.
