Privateer

Privateer is a bright-Virginia-heavy English-type mixture from Cornell & Diehl. Black Cavendish and dark Burley are added on top of a bright Virginia base; Latakia is used in a measured amount. It's ribbon cut, offered both in bulk and tinned.

Because the Latakia proportion is kept low, smoke isn't the mixture's main axis but a layer appearing in the background; the flavor up front is Virginia's sweetness and the roundness Cavendish and Burley provide. It sits between mild and medium in both nicotine and body. A fitting entry point for smokers new to Latakia blends or finding heavily smoky mixtures too much.
