Red Odessa

Red Odessa is the red-Virginia-heavy interpretation of Cornell & Diehl's Odessa blend. Turkish-Oriental tobacco, Cyprus Latakia, and Louisiana Perique are added on top of red Virginia leaf, giving a ribbon-cut, medium-bodied English mixture. Latakia's smoke forms the blend's backbone, Oriental leaf brings dry spice and a resinous tone, and Perique balances red Virginia's breadlike sweetness with a sharpness evoking plum and black pepper.

Suited to those looking for a measured English blend that can carry its smoky character at any hour of the day. Since nicotine load stays at a medium level, it can also serve as an entry point for those newly moving into Latakia blends; the room note, however, is distinctly smoky and lingers for a long time indoors.
