Sha'are Orah is a blend in Cornell & Diehl's Hebraica series. Its name comes from the book of the same title by Rabbi Yosef ben Avraham Gikatilla, considered one of the foundational texts of the Kabbalah tradition. The series' origin traces back to mixtures blender William Serad prepared for Rabbi Ira Stone, who favored Burley-Oriental-Perique compositions.
The blend is built on a base of cube-cut Burley and stoved red Virginia; touches of Perique and Oriental leaf strike a balance between sweetness and spice. The cut is coarse and textured. As expected of Burley-Perique compositions, it's full-bodied in both nicotine and smoke intensity; suited to experienced smokers looking for unflavored, filling, spicy blends.
