Shelbyton

Shelbyton is a blend in Cornell & Diehl's natural-aromatic wing. A significant amount of light Virginia leaf is added on top of a soft Cavendish and black Cavendish base; some dark fire-cured Kentucky is used to strengthen the body. It's ribbon cut, offered both in bulk and tinned.

The topping is tawny port wine, leaving a measured undertone reminiscent of raisin and stone fruit. Thanks to the fire-cured leaf, the smoke moves away from pure sweetness into something creamy and full-bodied. Suited to smokers avoiding heavy syrupy aromatics who want naturally flavored blends that preserve tobacco taste.
