Tuskegee Airman is a blend built from Virginia, Perique, Turkish leaf, and Latakia, pressed so the flavors meld together and sliced for easy packing. It takes its name from the Tuskegee Airmen, the first Black military pilots of the United States; records note the bomber crews they escorted called them "Red Tail Angels" for the red-painted tails of their P-51 aircraft.
On the smoke, spice, sweetness, and smoke move together: Virginia sets the base, Perique adds sharpness, Oriental leaf adds dry spice, and Latakia carries the smoky layer. Thanks to its sliced structure it can be packed rubbed out or folded; its body sits at a medium level.
