Warped: Scarecrow 2021

Scarecrow is the blend series Warped and Cornell & Diehl release in limited quantity each autumn; the 2021 release is that year's edition of the series. Its composition includes a special red Virginia Cavendish made from 2017-harvest dark red and 2019-harvest orange-red flue-cured leaf, rounded out with 2014-harvest white Burley and old-style air-cured dark leaf. After being pressed for days, the mixture is sliced into old-fashioned crumble cake.

The flavoring is measured: a light top note leaning toward chocolate, vanilla, and caramel sits over the natural tobacco character. The result is a smoke where malty cocoa and warming spice come forward, sitting between aromatic and unflavored. Its pressed structure makes it well suited to aging; being a seasonal limited run, it's only available during its release period.
