Blenders Bench: Bulgarian Oriental

Bulgarian Oriental is the Bulgarian-origin Oriental tobacco Daughters & Ryan sells as a single variety in the Blenders Bench line. Oriental tobaccos are small-leaved, sun-cured types carrying heavy aromatic oils.

It carries a flavor line similar to the brand's Ramback Balkan blend, but since no flue-cured leaf is added, the Oriental character comes through more nakedly. Alongside woody, rooty, and earthy notes there's a subtle sweetness and faint floral tones. Nicotine is low, flavor intensity high; aimed at blenders building English and Balkan-style mixtures.
