Blenders Bench: Yenidje

Yenidje is an Oriental tobacco named after the Yenice region in Western Thrace; Daughters & Ryan offers this leaf as a single variety in the Blenders Bench line. The leaf comes in compressed clumps and needs to be teased apart into strands before use.

Despite being light in nicotine, flavor intensity is high; it carries dry hay, spice, and a subtle incense-like line. Its main use is in blending: added in small amounts to English and Balkan-style mixtures, it brings the Oriental character forward noticeably.
