Gordon Pym

Gordon Pym is a traditional English mixture in which a base of golden Virginia and Maryland leaf, with a small amount of fire-cured dark Virginia added, is combined with select Oriental leaf and Syrian Latakia. It takes its name from the protagonist of Edgar Allan Poe's only full-length novel.

Syrian Latakia gives a less tarry, more incense-like smokiness than Cyprus Latakia; the Oriental leaf adds a soft, tangy sharpness. Its broad cut means it burns slowly and evenly, and the maker notes that its character shows better in larger-chambered bowls. Suited to smokers looking for a classic, measured smoky English mixture.
