Milonga

Milonga is an aromatic blend named after a traditional musical style common in and around Argentina. Sweet Virginia grades — some of Argentine origin — are combined with soft black Cavendish, topped with a caramel and vanilla casing. It's ribbon cut, and the same blend is offered both in tins and in large vacuum-sealed packs.

In the tin note, caramel and vanilla can be picked out separately. It has a mild-to-medium body and a medium level of casing. Once given a short drying period and packed loosely, it lights easily and burns evenly; smoked too fast, it tends to overheat. Suited to smokers wanting a cased but not syrupy aromatic, and to those new to the pipe.
