45 Years

45 Years is a limited-edition commemorative blend Davidoff prepared for its forty-fifth year in pipe tobacco. The Swiss-origin brand has its pipe tobaccos produced in Germany; this edition was released in numbered 100-gram tins, limited to six thousand pieces. The leaves are stated to be sourced from Brazil, Cyprus, Turkey and Malawi.

The blend consists of burley, black cavendish, latakia, dark leaf of Zairean origin and oriental tobaccos, flavored with cherry, vanilla and rum. On the smoke, cherry and plum notes stand out along with traces of spice, vanilla and honey, while latakia and light virginia leave a fine smoky layer in the background. It suits smokers who love the aromatic structure but also want to taste tobacco character, interested in transitional blends where latakia is used sparingly.
