Year of the Rat

Year of the Rat is the 2020 entry in Davidoff's yearly limited-edition series based on the Chinese zodiac. It was released in red-lacquered, gold-embroidered tins, limited worldwide to five thousand numbered tins. The Swiss-origin brand has its pipe tobaccos produced in Germany.

The blend is built on black cavendish and bride-cut virginia, with the addition of Indonesian-origin fire-cured Kentucky leaf; it's flavored with rose petal and lychee notes. On the smoke, dried fruit, cream and lychee tastes appear with a floral top note, while Kentucky leaves a dry smokiness in the background. It suits smokers who love the aromatic structure but also want body alongside the sweetness.
